Breadth Topics

Daylighting - Analysis through the glazing aspect of façade design will incorporate concepts ranging from the optimal amount of light on a work surface, to unwelcomed glare through seasonal changes.

Mechanical -  Multiple analyses will impact the mechanical requirements for the building. The roofing system and membrane selection has a significant effect on solar gains and reflectivity which will impact the heating and cooling loads that must be addressed through the mechanical system. Façade design will have a similar impact to the loads on the HVAC equipment.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Alexander Boots. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
